On November 21, 2024, Project Excurs was honored to participate in an industry event, engaging in meaningful exchanges with representatives from academia and industry, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The discussions centered around fostering innovation, addressing the pressing challenges of skills shortages, and preparing young talents for the evolving demands of the industrial sector.
In times of growing skills gaps, initiatives like Werk150 play a pivotal role. As the on-campus learning and research environment of Reutlingen University, Werk150 stands at the forefront of shaping the next generation of industrial engineers by providing cutting-edge solutions and a forward-looking educational approach.
This occasion also marked a milestone for Werk150, as it was officially recognized by Dassault Systèmes as an Education Center of Excellence. This accolade highlights the remarkable achievements of Werk150 in integrating and applying advanced technologies, particularly the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, to offer students a hands-on, future-ready education.
The event offered Project Excurs the unique opportunity to witness and learn about the innovative programs at Werk150, which will transition to become the nucleus of the newly established Faculty of Sustainability and Technology (NXT) at Reutlingen University starting March 1, 2025.
The day concluded with an engaging session from the Steinbeis Innovation Center’s Roadshow on the Digital Twin in the Product Lifecycle, featuring captivating talks and live demonstrations.
Project Excurs is proud to have been part of this inspiring event and looks forward to applying the insights gained to further its mission of fostering innovation and collaboration between academia and SMEs.
